Openverse, the popular online library of free and open-source photos, images, and audio, has moved to its new standalone domain, This move, which took place on February 8th, 2023, also brought with it improvements to the site’s homepage, header, and footer. The previous domain,, will now redirect to and users will still be able to access Openverse from the header. Openverse remains an important component of the WordPress project.

This change is expected to bring improvements to the site’s SEO and usability.
